Scene Blockout
Using my concept art I began to create a block out for my environment within Unreal Engine 4. This stage came in a few steps as I refined my block out over the period of three days until I was happy to move into development.

On my third day, I decided to experiment with both a thatched roof and a tiled roof to see which style of roof would best suit my cottage. Personally, I preferred the thatched roof simply because I associate a cottage with a thatched roof and feel like without it, the cottage would just not feel as authentic. On the other hand, a tiled roof would help give my cottage a little more character and I could really push the stylized look. To help make my decision, I turned to my peers at University for crucial feedback. It was clear that the thatched roof was more favored and the reason why I chose to stick with my original idea to include a thatched roof on my cottage.
