Moodboard
After completing my research, I put together a mood board using the PureRef software. This mood board consisted of my main reference image (a 'hobbit mansion'), interesting studio Ghibli buildings that I was fond of, both stylized and Ghibli-style textures and materials, prop ideas, foliage styles found in the Ghibli animations, colour palettes, and various other reference images which I could refer to throughout the production of my project.
Below, I have included an image of my entire mood board and images to show each section separately so that they are more legible.

| A look at my entire mood board |
| A handful of colour palettes that would suit my scene |
| Reference images of various Studio Ghibli style doors and windows |
| Images of fences as this is something that I knew I wanted to include in my scene |
| Several reference images of foliage, trees, rocks, cliffsides, and background scenery |
| Images of buildings with interesting elements that I liked the look of (circled in red) |
| Some images to help understand how I would like the lighting of my scene |
| Gathered images of different textures and materials that would work with my environment |
| My mood board prop idea references |
| A look at various roof designs and chimney styles that I liked the look of |
| Some notes on Sound effects and Visual effects that I wanted in my scene |
Concept Art
In order to figure out my scene's composition and layout, I produced a very basic but fundamental piece of concept art by photo-bashing various images together in Photoshop. This image was more of a personal guide than a professional piece of concept art. However, creating this concept would help to solidify my idea and act as a primary reference while creating the block out of my environment.
